FAQs
Is there a host?
No. Just Coffee is self-led. Your table is arranged before you arrive, so you simply take your seat, order what you like and let the conversation take it from there.
Do I pay for my own coffee or food?
Yes. Your $25 booking reserves your place at the table. Anything you order at the café is paid for separately, so you can choose exactly what you feel like having.
Can I get a refund if I change my mind?
Bookings are non-refundable, so please make sure the date and time suit you before reserving your seat. If Just Coffee is unable to proceed, you’ll be contacted directly about the next steps.
Will I have to approach people?
Not in the way you would at a larger singles event. Your place is already at the table, so you’re not walking around deciding who to approach. You arrive, sit down and the conversation starts from there.
Wouldn’t a bigger event give me more chances to meet someone?
It gives you more people, but not necessarily more meaningful conversation. In a bigger room, attention is divided and people move around quickly. Just Coffee gives you fewer people, but more time to actually talk to them.
What if I’m not great at working a room?
That’s exactly why Just Coffee is smaller. You don’t need to circulate, compete for attention or keep finding the next person to speak to. You only need to meet the people at your table.
What if I’m a little nervous coming on my own?
That’s completely normal. Everyone is arriving to the same table for the same reason, so you’re not walking into someone else’s group. Your seat is already part of it.
What if I don’t click with anyone straight away?
That’s okay. Just Coffee isn’t about forcing a result. It gives you a simple way to meet a few new people, have a conversation and see where it goes.
What if I’m just starting to put myself out there again?
Just Coffee can be an easy first step. You’re not committing to a big night or walking into a room full of strangers. It’s simply 90 minutes, one table and a few new people to meet. Sometimes starting small makes starting at all feel much easier.
What if I’ve recently come out of a relationship?
You don’t need to arrive with a goal of meeting “the one”. Just Coffee can simply be a way to start meeting new people again, get comfortable having new conversations and enjoy being social in a smaller setting.
What if I haven’t done anything like this before?
That may actually be why Just Coffee suits you. There’s very little to figure out. Your seat is already arranged, everyone at the table is there to meet new people, and you don’t need any experience with singles events to take part.
What if I’m quieter or take a little while to warm up?
You don’t need to be the loudest person at the table. With fewer people, there’s more room for everyone to contribute without having to fight for attention.
Do I need to go in expecting something romantic to happen?
No. The only expectation is that you’re open to meeting some new people. A good conversation is enough. Anything beyond that can happen naturally, rather than becoming something you have to manufacture.
