FAQs
Is there a host?
No. Just Drinks is self-led. Your table is arranged before you arrive, so you simply turn up, grab a drink and meet the singles you’re there with.
Do I pay for my own drinks?
Yes. Your $25 booking reserves your place. Drinks are ordered and paid for separately, so you simply choose whatever you feel like having.
Can I get a refund if I change my mind?
Bookings are non-refundable, so please make sure the date and time suit you before reserving your seat. If Just Drinks is unable to proceed, you’ll be contacted directly about the next steps.
Will I have to approach people?
Not in the usual way. You’re not walking into a bar wondering who is single or who you should approach. Your table is already there, and everyone at it came knowing they’d be meeting new singles.
What if I never know what to say when I first meet someone?
That’s one of the advantages of Just Drinks. You don’t need an opening line or an excuse to start talking. You’re already part of the same table, so the introduction has effectively been made for you.
Wouldn’t a bigger singles event give me more opportunities?
It gives you more people to meet. Just Drinks gives you an easier way to start talking to the people you do meet. If you’d rather begin with a table of singles than spend the night circulating, this format may suit you better.
What if I’m not good at working a room?
You don’t need to be. There’s no circling the venue, scanning for someone to approach or trying to get somebody’s attention from across the room. You start with the social part already in place.
What if I’m coming on my own?
That’s completely normal. Everyone has reserved their own place, so you’re not walking into somebody else’s friendship group. You’re arriving as part of the table from the beginning.
What if I’m just starting to put myself out there again?
Just Drinks can be an easy way back into meeting new singles. You still get the energy of going out, but without needing to navigate an entire room or make the first move cold.
What if I’m a little quieter at first?
You don’t have to be the loudest person at the table. The smaller setting gives conversations more room to develop, so you can settle in rather than feeling like you need to make an instant impression.
What if I don’t click with anyone straight away?
That’s okay. A drink, some banter and a little time can change the feel of a conversation. Just Drinks gives you the chance to see who you naturally enjoy talking to without forcing an outcome.
Is this supposed to turn romantic?
There’s no requirement for anything to happen. You’re simply meeting other singles in an environment where conversation, banter and a little flirting have room to happen naturally. Where it goes from there is up to you.
What if everyone wants to keep the night going?
Then keep it going. Another round, another bar afterwards, or whatever the group feels like doing. Just Drinks gives the night a starting point without deciding where it has to finish.
How many singles are at the table?
Just Drinks is intentionally kept small, with up to 8 singles at the table. Enough people to keep the conversation lively, without turning the night into another room you have to work.
